Why Bad Things Happens Only to Good People
Qasem Soleimani used to live a simple life. He had never lied. He was an elderly man. He was injured by chemicals. He was a soldier. He was disabled. His eyes were wounded. He had severe chest pains due to those chemical injuries in his last years of his life. Qasem Soleimani’s children never boasted about their father’s position nor would they introduce themselves as the children of someone with such a high rank. The state of Qasem Soleimani’s home was that of which the public cannot imagine. The paint in the walls of his home was fading. Many People can’t live in a home of this state due to their luxurious desires. The level of simplicity of this great man’s life can be found in his personal room. The only things found in his room were a bed and a blanket. ‘On one occasion, Qasem Soleimani invited our family to his house for dinner. I swear by God that he was one of a kind man. On the food time when he was setting the food mat, Qassem Soleimani’s hospitality made us feel like royalty. He kept calling us honored guests, esteemed guests and treated us as such as well. The plates for dinner were seemed like they were passed down through generations. I swear to God, you that are plates you can’t find plates like those even in the poorest of villages. This is Qassem Soleimani. Ladies are inherently sensitive. My wife asked me, why does a man of this rank live like this? I simply replied, this is Qassem Soleimani, an amazing personality.
The popular approach especially for women is that before inviting someone they make sure that everything is modern and new to present to guests such as nicely furnished seating, grand chandeliers, and a pleasant appearance overall. Let us reflect on the life of Haji Qassem Soleimani.
Another interesting item I found in Qassem Soleimani’s home was a picture frame on a door. The picture frame contained pictures of 400-500 martyrs. Every morning Qassem Soleimani used to talk the photos of the martyrs and thank them for their work. He would have fun with his martyred friends every morning before leaving his house.
Qasem Soleimani would sometimes talk to the photos of the martyrs in the night on return to the home with grief.
I became even more curious after learning about this activity of Qassem Soleimani speaking to the photos of martyrs.
I asked Haji, ‘what do you say to the photos of the martyrs?’
Qasem Soleimani replied, ‘these are my martyred friends’
I asked Haji again, ‘what do you say to these martyrs?’
Qasem Soleimani replied, ‘every morning when I leave my house for Jihad, I say to my friends, friends - with your permission, I am going to Jihad for Allah (SWT) with the help of the Almighty. Please help me, so that today I can also serve just as you did.’
I asked Haji, ‘this is what you say to them in the morning before you leave your house.
What do you say to them in the evening when you return?’
Qasem Soleimani replied, ‘I apologize to my martyred friends, that I have not been able to do what I was supposed to do. I am ashamed that I once again, came back alive. I am ashamed, my souls.’
Then Haji Qasem Soleimani would recite a verse from the Quran. 51:55 (Surah Az-Zariyat [The Winds that Scatter]; ‘And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers.
On another occasion, we had a meeting in our office with Qasem Soleimani. We were to report to Haji of our tasks. We stood up to receive him. Haji Qasem Soleimani told us that his back was in severe pain. I cannot sit down and I would like to lay down. I said, my soul is for you. I know you have not slept. I will go into the other room and you can take rest in this this room.
Haji replied, ‘do not stop the work of Allah SWT. My back is in pain.’
Haji Qasem Soleimani laid down and we sat beside him.
Haji Qasem Soleimani said again to us, ‘Do not stop the work of Allah (swt).’
To this day, I still hear those words echoing in my mind.
How can you find a man like Qasem Soleimani.

only the power of making continuous efforts.
